Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide 24-hour call coverage in Lincoln, Nebraska. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiothoracic surgery experience, including first assisting in the operating room and endoscopic or open vein harvesting.

Assignment Details

• Practice Setting: Hospital
• Coverage: 24-Hour On-Call
• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities

• First assist in a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
• Perform endoscopic and/or open vein harvesting.
• Provide perioperative management of cardiothoracic surgery patients.
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage, including overnight phone consultations and emergent operative cases.
• Evaluate patients, assist with preoperative and postoperative care, and collaborate closely with the cardiothoracic surgery team.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Epic.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• Active Nebraska PA or NP license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
• Extensive cardiothoracic surgery experience required.
• Demonstrated proficiency as a first assist in cardiothoracic procedures.
• Experience performing vein harvesting is required.
