Position Overview

Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem (ASB) is a physician-led private anesthesia practice with more than 30 years of stability and excellence in delivering high-quality perioperative care.

ASB is seeking full-time, partnership-track Critical Care Anesthesiologists and Neuro-Critical Care Anesthesiologists.

These positions are available to both new graduates and experienced physicians.

Critical Care Practice

This is an opportunity to practice anesthesiology and critical care medicine within an independent physician group.

ASB has a stable and growing team of 18 critical care anesthesiologists who provide care across a combination of tertiary and community-level ICUs.

Critical care patient populations include:

• Cardiac surgery and cardiology
• Neurological critical care
• General medical critical care
• Surgical critical care

Multidisciplinary ICU Environment

The ICU service operates as a multidisciplinary rounding team that includes:

• Residents
• Medical students
• Advanced practice students
• Advanced practitioners
• Critical care pharmacists
• Respiratory therapists
• Critical care nurses

Care is coordinated with the full spectrum of medical and surgical specialists.

In addition to anesthesia critical care colleagues, physicians work with critical care physicians from other specialties as part of a multidisciplinary service line.

Hospital & Health System

St. Luke's University Health Network has experienced significant growth over the past 12+ years.

ASB is the exclusive provider of anesthesia services and provides critical care services for multiple ICUs throughout the network.

Primary facilities and clinical environments include:

• St. Luke's University Hospital at Bethlehem

  • Level I Trauma Center
  • Primary inpatient facility

• St. Luke's Anderson Campus

  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Mother and Baby Pavilion
  • More than 3,500 deliveries annually

Surgical & Clinical Services

ASB provides anesthesia services for a broad range of surgical specialties, including:

• Orthopedics
• Cardiac surgery
• Thoracic surgery
• Neurosurgery
• Urology
• Gynecology
• ENT
• Vascular surgery
• General surgery

ASB also has a growing pediatric program, including a pediatric emergency department and pediatric hospital units.

A separate pediatric call team manages more challenging pediatric cases.

Perioperative Programs

The practice also operates:

• Pre-op programs
• Acute Pain Service
• Surgical Optimization Clinic
• ERAS protocols across nearly all specialties

ASB physicians are also represented in leadership positions throughout the health network.

Compensation & Time Off

Total compensation, including 401(k) and other benefits, is approximately $650,000.

Time off totals approximately 19 weeks per year.

• $100,000 sign-on bonus
