Department: OperationsReport to: Operations ManagerJob Status (FLSA): Non-ExemptLocation: Dallas, TexasPosition Summary:The purpose of this position is to ship product to customers by scheduling pickups and verifying jobs that are ready to ship. The Operations Agent will work closely with the company’s customs brokers, warehouse staff, shipping companies and clients. As well as assisting with shipping, receiving and transportation.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist answering incoming phone calls, e-mails and respond to customer’s requestsSupervise the loading of trucksTaking bookings from customersTrack shipments and communicate with clients about the shipment’s progressSchedule pick-ups and deliveriesUpdate shipments in Trans SoftReview the Work Day file for outstanding pickupsCultivate a positive and enduring relationship with Customers / Vendors / Co-WorkersMust be able to work in a very fast pace environmentMust be able to multi-taskAccurately receive cargo – record dims and weight of each shipmentInspect cargo for damages and address exceptionsResponsible for staging cargo efficiently in the warehouseOffload and load both inbound and outbound cargoComply with all safety and security procedures and TSA regulationsPerform other duties and projects as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Basic computer knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook)10-key by touch.Accurate data entry skillsStrong mathematical skillsKnowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service.Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.Knowledge of import and export documentsBilingual – Spanish/English preferred.Strong communication skills, both written and verbalQualifications:High School Diploma or GED preferred.Experience:Prior experience in the transportation industry a plus.Physical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
