Auditor / Senior Auditor

Responsible for the day-to-day accomplishment of assigned audit tasks required in evaluating performance and financial activities of the U.S. House of Representatives (House). All work is performed in compliance with the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Policies and Procedures Manual and appropriate professional standards. All duties are performed in the highest ethical manner, while exhibiting the OIG Core Values of Integrity, Excellence, and Innovation. Qualifications Education: Undergraduate degree and 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours may be business law) required. Applicable graduate degree or professional certification is preferred for HS-10 and required for HS-11. Qualifying certifications include: CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA, CISSP, PMP, LSS, and CGFM. Experience HS-10: Experience and knowledge of performance and financial audits and knowledge of investigative tools and techniques. HS-11: Extensive experience and knowledge of performance and financial audits and knowledge of investigative tools and techniques. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of GAO Government Auditing Standards. Knowledge of risk assessment concepts. Knowledge and understanding of work management concepts. Ability to work non-standard hours, as needed, and switch job priorities. Communicate complex ideas/facts clearly in a well-organized manner and actively listen. Examine situations using facts; draw unbiased conclusions. Ability to display understanding, courtesy, respect, and tact in various interactions; establish and maintain positive working relationships, contribute to organizational effectiveness, and implement conflict management. Influence others to maximize efforts towards achievement of a goal. Additional Requirements Pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting. Pre-employment drug test. Must reside in or relocate to the Washington, D.C. area. Relocation expenses will not be paid. Must be a U.S. citizen or meet House employment eligibility requirements.
