Ensures consistent execution of validated coating processes to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets in a production environment. Investigates and resolves polymer- and coating-related technical issues that affect product performance and yield while partnering closely with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to support commercial productionResearch & Development - Production SupportExecute established coating formulations and processes in adherence to validated parameters and specificationsProvide hands-on support for coating, mixing, curing, and surface preparation processesPerform routine analytical and in-process testing to ensure materials and finished goods meet specificationsMonitor product performance through data trending and process verificationInvestigate deviations, nonconformances, and yield issues using root cause analysis toolsDesign for Manufacturability & Tech TransferPartner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to ensure processes are scalable, safe, and capableOptimize polymer chemistry operations (mixing, dispersion, curing, coating, drying, cleaning) for throughput, yield, and robustnessAuthor and maintain SOPs, specifications, batch records, BOMs, routers, and work instructionsSupport validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ and MSA/GR&R to sustain validated production processesCoating Production & Supplier SupportExecute complex batch records and troubleshoot real-time production issues (e.g., low yield, OOS/OOT results)Define raw material specifications and collaborate with Supplier Quality on material consistency and change controlEvaluate and disposition nonconforming materials and implement CAPA and risk mitigationsQuality, Compliance & SafetyEnsure adherence to QMS and regulatory standards (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485)Apply GLP/GMP, ALCOA+ data integrity, and safe chemical handling practicesSupport complaint investigations, failure analysis, and trend reduction activitiesInnovation & Continuous ImprovementDrive process improvements focused on yield, cost, cycle time, and capability (Cp/Cpk)Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance manufacturability and efficiencyManufacturing Excellence & Market-Focused InnovationSupport and contribute to Integer Production System initiatives:Strategy alignment through Hoshin planning and SIOPSustained change via production performance monitoringStandardization through manufacturing work instructions and trainingEngagement in safety and problem-solving systemsOptimization of systems, process flow, and equipment reliabilityEducation & Experience:Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related fieldMinimum Experience: 0–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, process chemistry, or coatings environmentKnowledge & Skills:Technical ExpertiseChemical process execution (mixing, coating, curing, cleaning, scale-up)Analytical techniques: HPLC/UPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, rheology, friction testingProcess monitoring and control systems (SPC, MES, batch execution)Validation methodologies (IQ/OQ/PQ), MSA/Gage R&RQuality & regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA, CAPA)Special SkillsStrong troubleshooting ability in real-time production environmentsAbility to work on the manufacturing floor with cross-functional teamsData analysis and problem-solving skillsSpecialized KnowledgePolymer chemistry and hydrophilic coating systemsManufacturing scale-up and process robustness principlesContinuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma preferred)Coatings Chemist I Salary: $61,875- $90,750 Our total rewards program is designed to attract, retain, and motivate associates to contribute to Integer’s success. Our compensation program includes base salary and a cash-based incentive program supporting our pay-for-performance philosophy. We provide a comprehensive benefits package with immediate eligibility including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and adoption benefits. Parental leave is available after one year. Optional employee-paid programs include supplemental life insurance, critical illness, hospital indemnity and accident insurance. Employees are immediately eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan with company matching contributions.
