Eurofins Built Environment Testing is searching for an experienced Asbestos Analyst in Folsom, CA. This position is not located in Portland, OR. Relocation assistance is available for experienced candidates. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos. Enter and report analytical data using the LIMS. Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work. Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples and other quality control samples as needed. Maintain client service and provide technical support as needed. Assist the QA manager in development, implementation and data collection of QA processes for different analytical tests. Confirm lab results as required by client services personnel. Complete all analytical testing and Quality Assurance related tasks as needed. Assist in pursuing, receiving and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations. Maintain and update all necessary training and QA documents onsite as necessary. Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due time. Assist co‑workers on analytical questions as necessary. Participate in Lean initiatives as needed. Follow company policies and ensure coworkers do the same. Manage and maintain inventory of resale supply items and laboratory consumables and reorder supplies as needed. Manage and dispose of analyzed samples as needed. Provide training support for relevant analytical services (e.g., mycology, bacteriology, asbestos). Recommend and coordinate sample transfer as necessary. Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for errors and issues. Maintain equipment and coordinate servicing of all laboratory equipment. Communicate available capacity to Regional Manager routinely. Support other departments within the lab when appropriate. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by Supervisor/Manager. Qualifications 1+ years of experience performing asbestos microscopy (2-3 years ideal). Must be able to work in Folsom, CA. Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, geology or a closely related science. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Professional working proficiency in English. Weekly shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate would also possess 8 units of microbiology courses preferred. Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and databases. Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills. Compensation $22-$26 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Sign‑on bonus available for qualified candidates with PLM asbestos analysis experience. Position is full‑time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with weekends and overtime as needed.
