This job is also posted in ESC Region 12 Job Details Job ID: 5823061 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Jul 08, 2026 7:08 PM (UTC) Job Description Substitute Teachers and Aides General Responsibilities: Arrive promptly at the assigned time and location in order to assemble materials needed for the day and to receive necessary directions. Park in designated area. Please do not park in areas marked "Visitor". Report directly to the principal's office for instructions regarding classroom assignments and responsibilities for the day. You may be asked to fill out an Substitute Sign - In Report to ensure proper reporting to the Payroll Office. Before leaving school, report to the office to inquire whether to return the following day. Check the teacher's mailbox for notices or communications from the campus office. Perform any special duties the classroom teacher has been assigned to do. Check the room condition, noting lighting, temperature, and seating arrangements. Become familiar with emergency drill procedures. Prevent students from leaving the room unless it is necessary. Discretion should be used. Send a sick or injured student to the school nurse. In the case of a serious accident or injury, send for the school nurse or an administrator immediately. Let the school office know if a student needs medication. Only authorized district employees may administer medication. Notify the school office, before leaving the campus, of any serious problems experienced during the day. This is good protection for the substitute, the school, and the District. Supervise the dismissal of any class (for recess etc.). Leave the room in good order, turn out lights and perform other appropriate housekeeping chores. Fulfill all other duties as assigned by the campus/district administration. Dress as a professional educator. Professional Casual is recommended. Substitute Pay Rates: Substitute Teacher - Daily Rate Certified Teacher - $90.00 Long-Term Certified Teacher (after 10 consecutive days of subbing for same teacher) - $155.00 Non-Certified - $80.00 Long-Term Non-Certified (after 10 consecutive days of subbing for same teacher) - $105.00 Substitute Aides - Daily Rate Aides - $70.00 Long-Term Aides (after 10 consecutive days of subbing for same Aide) - $80.00 Supervisory Responsibilities: Students Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors : Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
