Assistant Professor OF Music

Job Description Chesterton Academy of St. Louis seeks a full‑time Literature teacher for the 2026‑27 school year to teach the High Middle Ages through the Renaissance, including Shakespeare, Dante, Cervantes, and other great works of the Western tradition. The teacher will also support the school’s drama and choir programs. Faith‑filled, mission‑driven educators are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Teach literature courses covering the High Middle Ages through the Renaissance, focusing on key authors such as Shakespeare, Dante, and Cervantes. Support the drama and choir programs through instruction and collaboration with program staff. Serve as an advisor to the student Houses, fostering each student’s spiritual and academic growth. Qualifications Faith‑filled Catholic who actively attends daily Mass. Alignment with the school’s mission and educational vision. Subject‑matter expertise and enthusiasm for teaching classical literature. Proactive, flexible, and strong character, demonstrated by effective classroom management. Commitment to professional growth, humility, and receptivity to coaching. Aptitude for working with students in accordance with St. John Bosco’s “Preventative Method.” Strong work ethic and perseverance. Willingness to serve as a practicing Roman Catholic and to adhere to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Part‑time faculty (if applicable) are strongly encouraged to attend daily Mass; all teachers must attend special Masses (first day of school, Mass of the Holy Spirit, Oath‑Taking, graduation, etc.).
