Tutor Perini O&G JV is seeking a Project Engineer to join the project in Manhattan, NYAbout Manhattan Jail ProjectExtraordinary Projects, Exceptional PerformanceThe $3.8B project scope includes design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility that will have dedicated space for on-site services and programming, indoor and outdoor recreation, food services, staff offices and facilities, amenities, below-grade accessory parking, and a secured entry.The new facility will contain 1,040 beds and provide 125 accessory parking spaces below grade for all staff and service providers. In addition, the facility will provide 20,000 square feet of community and commercial space on the ground floor.Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional TalentDESCRIPTION:As a Project Engineer at Tutor Perini O&G Joint Venture., reporting to the Project Manager you will have the opportunity to:Inspects construction site daily and works with contractors to schedule deliveries.Demonstrates understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within construction fieldInterprets designs and drawings for crafts installing materials and qualificationsResearch and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errorsPrepares field design change requisitions and “as built” drawings, as requiredPrepares and disseminates all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc., to supervisorVerifies that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specificationsReviews and comments on viability of design as required. Conducts value engineering functionsAttends meetings with other contractors, clients, or A/E representatives to coordinate design and construction effortsProvides necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials or equipmentDemonstrates a working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to disciplineObserves construction work performed in the fieldCreates and processes RFI’sParticipates in job walks and documents and reports findingsUnderstands company’s quality control plan and takes weekly photos to document any quality control issuesResearches and proposes solutions to quality control issuesGenerates queries and reports in Procore softwareResponsible for the review and maintenance of Quality Assurance/Quality Control Policies and ProceduresUnderstands company safety program and participates in safety inspectionsCreates specification checklistsReview submittals against specifications. Understands subcontractor job specifications and scope of workReviews mock-up and/or shop drawings and specificationsPossess the ability to attend meetings and transcribe detailed meeting minutes clearly, precisely, and accuratelyDemonstrates schedule understanding in coordination with construction logistics and construction sequencingUnderstands Change Management process and minimal ability in identifying change eventPerforms quantity takeoffsUnderstands construction scheduling in coordination with construction logistics and sequencingREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience with construction projects in the NYC metro area valued at 150 million or moreAbility to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks and assignmentsPerforms work tasks by receiving direction and then working independently with an interest in quickly learning and applying new skills and abilitiesWorking knowledge of Prolog or similar softwareWorking knowledge of blueprint reading requiredWorking knowledge of scheduling and estimating softwareKnowledge of CAD 2000 or CAD 3-D is knowledge of CAD 2000 or CAD 3-D is desired Intermediate knowledge of Windows Office Systems; particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook, etcExcellent written and verbal skillsOUR MISSIONWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.OUR VISIONWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
