Pediatric Neurology Division Director

Geisinger Medical Center – Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville, PA is seeking a Division Director of Pediatric Neurology. The position is a full‑time, academic appointment in the Department of Pediatrics. Responsibilities Provide strategic direction, oversight, and leadership for the pediatric neurology division and its subspecialty programs (epilepsy, headache, neuromuscular disorders, neurodevelopmental disabilities, sleep). Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that promotes innovation, excellence, and professional development. Recruit, retain, and mentor faculty and staff while ensuring compliance with ACGME and institutional standards. Expand access to care through outreach, telemedicine, and strategic partnerships. Support and grow research initiatives, facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations, and enhance national visibility. Manage division operations – budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation – and represent the division in departmental and institutional leadership forums. Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance across all division activities. Education & Training Direct educational programs for medical students and residents in the Child Neurology Residency Program. Ensure compliance with ACGME and institutional standards. Promote faculty engagement in teaching and mentorship. Research & Scholarship Support and grow research initiatives within the division. Facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations and secure funding opportunities. Promote scholarly productivity and national visibility of the division. Administration Manage division operations including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation. Represent the division in departmental and institutional leadership forums. Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Qualifications MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree. Board certification in Pediatric Neurology. Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania. Academic credentials commensurate with appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level. Preferred Attributes Minimum of five years of clinical and/or leadership experience in an academic medical center. Demonstrated success in program development, faculty mentorship, and strategic planning. Strong record of scholarly achievement.
