Position Summary Our Client is seeking a compassionate, clinically competent, and mission-aligned Staff Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care during clinic appointments. The Staff RN is responsible for conducting focused nursing assessments, determining appropriate services and resources based on patient needs, supporting clinical testing and treatment workflows, documenting care accurately, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, professional, and timely support. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, mature professionalism, and the ability to serve patients with dignity, confidentiality, and respect. The Staff RN works closely with providers, the Lead RN, Care Coordinators, and clinic team members to deliver high-quality care consistent with the medical clinics policies, standing orders, provider direction, and the nurse’s scope of practice. Key Responsibilities Clinical Assessment & Patient Care Conduct appropriate focused nursing assessments based on each patient’s needs, presenting concerns, and reason for appointment. Determine appropriate patient services, care steps, and resources within the parameters of the Clinics policies, standing orders, provider orders, and the RN scope of practice. Assume responsibility for the safety, emotional well-being, physical comfort, and clinical care of patients while they are under the Staff RN’s care. Provide patient care in a calm, professional, confidential, and compassionate manner. Identify patient needs and communicate concerns, changes, abnormal findings, or urgent issues to the appropriate provider or clinical leader in a timely manner. Testing, Procedures & Clinical Services Perform urine pregnancy testing according to manufacturer instructions and clinic protocols and communicate results appropriately to patients. Perform sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing according to manufacturer instructions, standing orders, provider orders, and clinic protocols. Communicate STI test results to patients in a professional, accurate, and confidential manner. Work with providers and standing orders to ensure patients receive appropriate STI treatment and follow-up care. Perform limited obstetric ultrasound examinations following completion of an ultrasound training program approved by the Medical Clinic. Communicate initial ultrasound findings to patients appropriately and within the RN scope of practice. Report abnormal ultrasound findings to the provider in a timely and clinically appropriate manner. Assist providers with procedures, testing, and clinical care as needed, including blood draws and lab-related support when ordered by the provider. Collect, process, and send lab samples to the appropriate outside laboratories according to standing orders, provider orders, and clinic procedures. Documentation, Compliance & Quality Care Accurately and promptly document all patient care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), in a timely manner. Maintain documentation standards that support continuity of care, compliance, quality assurance, and clinical accountability. Follow HIPAA regulations and always maintain strict patient confidentiality. Comply with all policies, procedures, clinical protocols, and standards of the Medical Clinic. Practice within the legal and professional standards of the Oregon RN license. Support clinic quality, patient safety, and outcome-focused care initiatives. Provide appropriate patient education based on patient needs, assessment findings, clinical services, and provider direction. Ensure patients receive clear, compassionate information regarding testing, results, next steps, care options, referrals, and available resources. Oversee and collaborate with the Care Coordinator to ensure patients are connected with appropriate medical related and community resources. Support a whole-person care approach that recognizes the medical, emotional, practical, and relational needs of each patient . Communicate effectively and professionally with providers, the Lead RN, Care Coordinators, clinic staff, and other team members. Provide professional leadership, partnership, and team-building support within the clinic environment. Model integrity, respect, confidentiality, and mission alignment in all interactions. Travel to other owned Medical Clinics within Oregon locations and mobile medical units as needed. Support a positive, collaborative, and service-focused clinic culture. Required Qualifications Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon. Current Basic Life Support certification. Minimum of one year of nursing experience. Ability to conduct focused nursing assessments and determine appropriate care within the RN scope of practice. Strong clinical judgment, patient communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively with providers, clinical staff, Care Coordinators, and patients. Commitment to patient confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and professional nursing standards. Ability to work in a mission-driven medical clinic environment. Willingness to complete limited obstetric ultrasound training through the Medical Clinics Oregon-approved ultrasound training program, if not already trained. Preferred Qualifications Experience in women’s health, OB/GYN, pregnancy-related care, reproductive health, family practice, community health, or outpatient clinic care. Experience performing pregnancy testing, STI testing, lab draws, patient education, or limited obstetric ultrasound. Experience working with patients facing sensitive, emotional, or complex circumstances. Familiarity with EMR systems and outpatient clinical workflows. Bilingual ability, especially English/Spanish. Experience supporting patients through education, advocacy, resource coordination, and compassionate care. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Work is performed in a medical clinic setting and may include service delivery at other clinic locations or mobile medical units. The role may require standing, walking, assisting patients, preparing exam rooms, handling clinical supplies, using medical equipment, drawing blood, collecting specimens, and maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout appointments.
