Lead Cashier

An experienced Lead Cashier will drive sales, guest experience, and store performance at Ulta Beauty. As a leader at the cashwrap, you will maintain cashroom standards, train new cashiers, and promote the Loyalty Life Cycle. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to operational excellence. Responsibilities Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, omni‑channel, guest loyalty (including credit), and retail shrink. Provide exceptional service by greeting guests, personalizing experiences, and recommending Ulta Beauty products and services. Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously and efficiently. Pair guests with associates for makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales. Book appointments and support in‑store events that enhance the guest experience and meet sales goals. Maintain cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures to ensure guest‑readiness. Support the leadership team by completing cash chat ins/outs and associate exit inspections as needed. Share benefits of the loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests and teammates. Coach and cross‑train new cashiers and other associates. Enforce compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, dress code, and cash handling standards. Perform register open and close functions as directed. Maintain store cleanliness and overall standards, including sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break area. Minimize loss through adherence to safety, inventory control, and loss prevention procedures. Qualifications High school diploma (preferred). 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience. Proven ability to delegate, multi‑task, and solve problems. Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and sales. Experience addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally. Track record of exceeding sales goals and training new hires. Proficiency with basic technology (e.g., POS and Apple devices). Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Ability to perform under pressure and exercise good judgment in ambiguous situations. Special Position Requirements Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Position is not available to minors; candidate must be 18 years of age or older. Working Conditions Continuous mobility with twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, and reaching. Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $16.90 – $24.75 per hour, based on education, experience, shift, and location. Eligible associates may earn overtime pay as required by law. Full‑time associates receive paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
