# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / Progressive Care – South Dakota**Start Date:** September 29, 2026 **Location:** Sioux Falls, South Dakota **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend and holiday. Rotating or blocked scheduling options available (orientation week, followed by day/night rotation). Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 in Progressive Care (IMC), 1:4-5 days / 1:5-6 nights in Medical-Surgical.**Highlights:** - 30-bed Medical-Surgical unit and 8-bed Progressive Care unit providing critical care experience with mechanical ventilation, telemetry, and advanced respiratory care- Diverse patient population including pneumonia, COPD, CHF, COVID-19, pulmonary embolism, with procedures including chest tubes, tracheostomies, BiPAP/CPAP, heated high flow oxygen, and moderate sedation monitoring- Epic EMR system, collaborative interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapists, case managers, pharmacists, and specialty providers- Comprehensive 3-day orientation with competency validation, preceptor support, and ongoing professional development opportunities- Magnet-designated facility with opportunities for committee involvement, board certifications, and leadership development- Flexibility to cross-train between Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care environments based on unit needs**Requirements:** - Active South Dakota or Compact State RN license- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required- Specialty certification preferred (Progressive Care Nursing or Medical-Surgical Nursing)- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow oxygen, oxygen titration, moderate sedation, telemetry, and medical-surgical patient care- Must be available to float to other Med-Surg units as needed**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers RNs the chance to build fundamental critical care skills in a supportive, mission-driven environment at a Magnet-recognized facility.
