Software Quality Engineer

Lockheed Martin Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking experienced Software Quality Engineers to support the software engineering lifecycle for missile defense technology. Summary of Key Duties Independent evaluation of software processes and products and their conformity to standards, models, and program-defined processes. Ensure quality is built into program processes and products by checking for completeness, consistency, correctness, and conformance throughout the software development life cycle and maintenance activities. Develop, monitor, measure, and analyze software metrics for continuous improvement. Perform all aspects of the Quality function, including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Quality Engineering; support AS9100 audit, program metric definition, supplier surveys, nonconformance analysis, lessons learned, and best practices. Present software quality assessment of products and processes to customers and program management. Track and manage nonconformances, software defects, trend analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions. Basic Qualifications Agile/Lean Development Experience – support software development teams operating under various Agile frameworks. Quality Systems Knowledge – thorough understanding of internal quality processes and external quality standards. Toolset Expertise – hands‑on experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Code Collaborator. Process & Product Evaluation – conduct assessments to verify compliance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement opportunities. U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain or maintain a Secret clearance. Desired Skills Active Secret Clearance. Ability to write code in C, C++, or Java. Lean / Six Sigma Belt. ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE). Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9115 requirements. Security+ certification. Knowledge of network security, threat landscapes, cryptography, and access‑control concepts. Microsoft Office Proficiency – advanced use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Independent work capability in high‑complexity environments. Team collaboration and communication skills. Metrics development and analysis. Issue communication and problem‑solving. Security Clearance Position requires a U.S. Citizen and a Secret clearance. The ability to obtain or maintain a Secret clearance is required.
