HR Generalist

The HR Generalist works under the direction of the HR Director, and is responsible for a wide variety of HR processes in an engaged culture focusing on continuous improvement. He/She will be the first point of contact for internal customers and paramount in ensuring we achieve our department vision.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Direct all incoming phone calls and emails to the appropriate HR resource to ensure they are addressed in a fair and consistent manner.

Process and track employee termination paperwork electronically within HRIS. Manage and maintain initial new hire evaluations, new employee feedback, and training plans. Assist and coach employee/people managers on company policy as it relates to corrective action and track necessary warnings and documentation. Manage the company uniform process. Post approved requisitions for non-warehouse positions to job boards, intranet and career page – as appropriate; assign recruiting resources and track through closure. Support the recruiting team on hourly and salary roles as needed. Create, update and maintain company job descriptions, summaries and position titles. Write, update, and audit company policies and department standard operating procedures.

1. Lead special projects to continuously improve department centered processes, compliance, and technology.
2. Conduct wage surveys and provide insight to company compensation strategy.
3. Initiate, track and assist new employees with electronic onboarding.
4. Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
5. Support company goals and uphold K&M Values.

Job Requirements:

1. Strong knowledge of Human Resources practices.

3. Ability to work independently in a multi-task, professional environment.
4. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
5. Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral formats.
6. Accurate and detail-oriented.
7. Knowledge and ability to use the following office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, fax and calculator.
8. Knowledge and ability to use the following software: Word, Excel, Power-point.

HR Generalist Level I Qualifications:

• 4-year Degree in Business/Human Resources or equivalent experience.

HR Generalist Level II Qualifications:

• Qualifications for Level I; plus
• 2 years of experience in a human resources field.

HR Generalist Level III Qualifications:

• Qualifications for Level II; plus
• 5 years of experience in a human resources field.
