This position is open to contract, part-time, and full-time arrangements.POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a strong psychiatric background to join our behavioral health team. Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) is strongly preferred; however, APRNs with substantial psychiatric/mental health clinical experience will be considered.This is a primarily remote/telehealth position. However, in-person visits at one or more of our South Carolina clinic locations are required for patients on controlled substances. Travel scheduling is coordinated in advance and designed to be efficient for the provider.Remote-First | Travel - RequiredSC License + DEA -RequiredPMHNP-BC -PreferredContract | Part-Time | Full TimeKEY RESPONSIBILITIESConduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment planning via telehealth and in-person visitsPrescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including Schedule II–V controlled substances, in accordance with DEA regulations and South Carolina prescribing lawsPerform required in-person assessments at designated TRTG clinic locations for patients receiving controlled substance prescriptionsMonitor patients for medication efficacy, tolerability, and safety; adjust treatment plans as clinically indicatedMaintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with organizational and regulatory standardsUtilize the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) consistently for all controlled substance prescribing decisionsCollaborate with TRTG therapists, case managers, and primary care providers on integrated care planningParticipate in care coordination and transition planning for high-acuity or complex patientsEngage in quality improvement, peer review, and required organizational trainingREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSActive, unrestricted APRN licensure in the state of South Carolina (multi-state or compact licensure a plus)PMHNP-BC board certification strongly preferred; or APRN with significant documented psychiatric/mental health clinical experienceCurrent DEA registration with authority to prescribe Schedule II–V controlled substancesMinimum 2 years of psychiatric clinical experience in outpatient, inpatient, or community behavioral health settingsDemonstrated experience managing patients on controlled substances including stimulants, benzodiazepines, and/or buprenorphineProficiency with telehealth platforms and electronic health recordsReliable, private workspace and high-speed internet connection suitable for HIPAA-compliant telehealthValid driver's license and willingness to travel to TRTG office locations as required by patient care needsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPMHNP-BC board certificationExperience with PDMP monitoring protocols and controlled substance agreementsBackground in MAT/MOUD (Medication-Assisted Treatment / Medications for Opioid Use Disorder)Familiarity with integrated or collaborative care modelsExperience with insurance billing including Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, and commercial plansBilingual or multilingual abilitiesTRAVEL & IN-PERSON REQUIREMENTSThe nature of controlled substance prescribing requires periodic in-person contact with patients. This provider will be expected to travel to one or more TRTG locations across South Carolina to fulfill this obligation.
