Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Job Summary Physical Therapist (PT) at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital provides rehabilitation services in an outpatient hospital setting to adult patients across multiple diagnoses and patient populations. The role includes administering and directing appropriate physical therapy evaluation and treatment as prescribed by a qualified physician, supporting early mobility, strength, balance, gait training, and functional recovery, and providing inpatient weekend coverage once per month. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients according to physician orders and established plans of care. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapy colleagues to deliver coordinated care. Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge recommendations in accordance with hospital standards. Support safe discharge planning and transitions of care to home or other facilities. Contribute to designated teams, hospital goals, and performance improvement activities. Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers. Demonstrate competency in assessment of all areas of physical therapy responsibility. Deliver safe and effective treatment/management for all assigned patients. Use appropriate treatment strategies and equipment safely. Communicate effectively with PTAs, other clinicians, and outside entities involved in patient outcomes. Complete documentation completely, accurately, and timely. Schedule and manage appointments efficiently. Billed services accurately and timely. Provide coverage in inpatient or outpatient therapy as required. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program. Current Tennessee licensure or eligibility. Prior outpatient-based experience preferred. Physical Therapy License – Tennessee. Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience. Bachelor’s degree.
