The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by accurately processing transactions, handling payments, and ensuring a positive shopping or dining experience for all of our retail areas. You will provide accurate cash collection and high quality customer service to all customers. You will be maintaining all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive at all times. Barista experience a plus! This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and strong interpersonal skills. Consistently restock cafeteria items to ensure products are fully available and accessible for customers.

Hours for this opportunity are fulltime 40 hours per week; shifts are 8 hours and generally run 5:30am - 2:00pm and 11am - 7:30pm and does include weekends/holidays. Plus you will enjoy an additional $1/hour flat rate weekend shift differential and an additional 18% night shift differential for hours past 9pm (if applicable).

Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center Located in Gilbert, Ariz. (the Phoenix Metro area) on the Banner Gateway Campus, the center provides world-class care for oncology patients - both inpatient and outpatient - and has also brought leading oncology programs to the Banner Gateway campus including designation as a Stem Cell Transplant Center of Excellence and comprehensive Head & Neck cancer care. Our capabilities include five linear accelerator vaults, a brachytherapy vault, an advanced diagnostic imaging suite with PET/CT scan, more than 70 infusion bays, a cryopreservation lab and much more. Our inpatient medical oncology unit also incorporates a program that utilizes the electronic surveillance partnership in caring for the patient, where remote nurses have the ability to interact with patients via two-way audio-video to assist the bedside nurse with patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to provide accurate revenue collection and to assist in providing high quality customer service to customers.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Accurately records all sales in the Point of Sale System; transacts payments with customers.

2. Stores, counts, deposits and maintains register cash and receivables in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility.

3. Maintains all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive at all times.

4. Provides service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines. Responds to customer complaints and assists with problem resolution.

5. May perform cleaning, stocking, sign maintenance and other duties as assigned.

6. This position is in contact with patients, other food service department personnel, hospital staff, visitors and families. This position must have excellent customer service skills and be able to resolve customer issues at the point of contact.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS

FS - Typical Foodservice/Kitchen Environment: (Cook, Food Services Worker) Able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend frequently. Work may be done in uncomfortably high temperature and humidity, sometimes on wet surfaces. May be required to lift up to 75 pounds. Must wear protective clothing as required. Ability to communicate effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires effective interpersonal communication skills, a friendly customer service attitude and the ability to accurately calculate and count change rapidly and repetitively. Good reading, writing and math skills. Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required. Requires the ability to learn Point of Sale cash register system, beverage brewing and/or dispensing equipment and cleaning equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
