About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS required, PALS preferred Description: General Comments Unit Information: 30 beds with the potential to increase to 36. Staff includes 45 employees. Day Shift has a clinical coordinator, 5 RNs, 2 techs, and 1 unit secretary. Night Shift includes 5 RNs and 2 techs. Patient ratios are 1:5 to 1:6. Type of equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs. EMR system utilized is Meditech. Typical hiring profile: Most recruited for is travel RNs. Must-have skills include BLS and great communication skills. Preferred skills include PALS certification and experience caring for pediatric patients. Candidates should be familiar with post-operative orthopedic care. Typical procedures performed on the unit include: Post-operative orthopedic and spinal surgical patient care. Post-operative care for podiatry patients. Best personality fit is a team player with a positive attitude and strong patient advocacy. Dress code requires scrub colors of navy blue and white. Hoodies, pull-overs, and T-shirts are not permitted.
