Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients in an acute care setting, including high-risk obstetric cases involving diabetic and complex patient populations
• Monitor and assess patients using fetal surveillance systems and maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios per AWHONN staffing standards (1:1 for patients ?6cm dilated, on Magnesium or insulin drips; 1:2 otherwise)
• Follow scheduled C-Section patients through the entire care continuum from pre-op through PACU sign-off
• Perform and assist with procedures including external versions and second trimester cerclages (day shift only)
• Accurately document patient care using electronic health record and fetal surveillance systems; administer medications using automated dispensing systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in a Level II Trauma, teaching hospital environment serving a broad regional patient population

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications issued through the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech (PCS and ORM modules) and OBIX fetal surveillance systems
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication administration systems and Solaris IV pumps
• Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients, including those requiring Magnesium or insulin drips
