Traveling Physical Therapist Role

Join a traveling Physical Therapist role in Elizabeth City, NC, at an outpatient clinic where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. The position requires evaluation, development, implementation and modification of treatment plans, delegation and coordination of discipline-specific therapy services, and education of patients, families and learners. Maintain professional licensure and compliance with state practice acts and organizational policies while contributing to performance improvement initiatives and patient and employee safety practices.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school approved by the APTA.
• Active state Physical Therapist license in North Carolina required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient physical therapy experience.
• Experience completing comprehensive evaluations, writing measurable goals, and documenting using approved electronic medical record formats.
• Ability to develop and implement functional treatment plans focused on return to community activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising students and mentoring staff.
• Previous experience in outpatient clinic operations, including charge entry and letters of medical necessity.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 40 hours per week; M, W, F 7:00 AM–4:00 PM; T, R 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• Location: Elizabeth City, NC (outpatient setting).
• Requires adherence to clinic guidelines for appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
• May be expected to participate in student clinical education as assigned.
