Registered Nurse - Observation & Med/Surg

Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, patient focused Registered Nurse to join our Observation & Med/Surg Unit and make a difference for our patients and our community.

W2 is a 22-bed capacity med-surg/telemetry unit focused on short stay medical-surgical observation as well as extended recovery patients. This includes general surgery, acute care surgery, neurosurgery, urology, cardiac telemetry and post procedural care. Nurses who wish to work on this unit must develop clinical and compassionate practices in the care of patients with complex medical and mental health conditions.

Our Professional Nursing Practice Model offers patient and family-centered care that maintains an unwavering focus on what matters most: caring and healing at the patient’s bedside. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence-based nursing practice. Regions Hospital supports nurses with an individualized orientation including Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program which is a nurse residency structured program to support learning, role transition, and retention of nurses. All new hire registered nurses at Regions Hospital will be automatically enrolled. Our award-winning programs give our patients and their families a place of comfort and healing. Work Schedule: 0.75 FTE. 12 hour day shifts during the week. 12 hour night shifts every 3rd weekend.

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience

-Internal new graduate applicants can meet minimum requirements with an Associate Degree in Nursing

-Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
-CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers
-Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications :

-BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire
-One year of acute care RN experience is preferred
