Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult patients on a cardiac step-down unit and telemetry Med Surg population.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, administer IV medications and drips, and execute post-operative orders for open-heart patients; respond promptly to clinical changes.
- Collaborate with physicians, unit leadership, and case management; document care accurately in Epic EMR.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; monitor vitals, labs, and imaging; assist with discharge planning as appropriate.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards; support the care team during fluctuating census; may float to other units as needed and, on rare occasions, care for ventilated patients.

Requirements
- Current Ohio RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 3 years cardiac step-down experience, including heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, and post-op open-heart care
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Ability to float to other units as needed; comfortable caring for ventilated patients if required
- Willingness to work night shifts and adhere to unit staffing needs
