Senior Staff Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop, and maintain scalable system test automation infrastructure for the ZIA Core Datapath cloud product.
  • Build repeatable automation suites for L4–L7 technologies, including cloud firewalls, IPsec/GRE tunneling, load balancers, IPS/IDS, and routing and switching.
  • Perform functional, integration, performance, and scale testing, including test plan and test case creation.
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure, and firewall issues in customer environments.
  • Own features, advocate for testing at scale, optimize regression cycles, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud-based software design, development, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of overall experience and strong Python programming skills for building test automation frameworks.
  • Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions within the functional domain.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, TLS, PKI, DNS, DHCP, VPN, HA, routing and switching, and IPsec/GRE tunneling.
  • Hands-on experience with L3, L4, and L7 filtering policies, load balancers, IPS/IDS, and routers.
  • Proven experience with manual and automated functional, integration, performance, and scale testing for cloud security or SaaS products.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills for network infrastructure, and firewall issues.
  • Preferred experience with AI-assisted coding, static or dynamic analysis, intelligent automation tools, traffic generators, performance/load testing tools, and fuzzing techniques.
  • Preferred track record of mentoring junior engineers and leading large-scale test automation or quality initiatives for distributed cloud systems.
