• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 - $1,650
• Unit Setting: Medical Surgical / Urology-focused patient population
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 to 1:7
• Schedule Type: Block scheduling available; every other weekend required
• Start Date: 08/17/2026

Job Requirements

• Active Alabama RN license in good standing at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg RN experience required
• Strong experience with high-acuity medical surgical patients and 1:6 or 1:7 ratios
• Proficiency with insulin and heparin drips required
• Experience with cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Tridil, and Amiodarone
• BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• ACLS preferred or required per unit standards
• Must be comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Travel nurse experience preferred; strong new travel nurses may be considered
• Permanent address must be at least 90 miles from the facility
• Must be available to complete compliance requirements prior to the start date

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric Med Surg patients
• Manage high-acuity assignments with attention to safety, efficiency, and quality patient outcomes
• Administer and monitor IV drips, including insulin, heparin, and other cardiac medications as assigned
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated patient care
• Perform ongoing assessments, interventions, documentation, and patient education
• Maintain strong prioritization, communication, and time management skills in a fast-paced inpatient setting
• Adapt quickly to unit workflows, block scheduling, and rotating weekend expectations
