Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed medical cardiopulmonary unit and/or an 8-bed intermediate/progressive care unit, managing diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, and pulmonary embolism
• Perform and monitor advanced nursing skills including oxygen therapy, IV medications and drips, cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive and mechanical ventilation
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), Heparin drips, and Lasix; perform blood administration and ABG interpretation
• Provide moderate sedation monitoring during bronchoscopies and deliver postoperative and central line management care
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and specialty providers
• Document patient care using the Epic charting system; utilize Alaris pumps for IV fluids and Omnicell for medication management

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the state of practice
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency in telemetry, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow oxygen, and oxygen titration
• Experience with medical-surgical patient care including chest tubes, blood administration, and post-procedural care
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date of at least 6 months prior to the start of this assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• IMC/progressive care nursing skills, including tracheostomy and ventilator management (candidates with these skills may be eligible to work in both the medical cardiopulmonary unit and the pulmonary acute IMC unit)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Specialty nursing certification
• Prior experience in a Magnet-designated facility
