Director, Business Intelligence

What You Will Do Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for transforming data and information into actionable insights and institutional knowledge that drive business performance, optimize operations, and support strategic decision‑making across the organization. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in analytics, data architecture, and stakeholder engagement, along with strong business judgment, thought leadership, and the responsible use of AI to synthesize information quickly, interpret it in context, and translate it into meaningful action. This leader will play a pivotal role in linking commercial and operational interdependencies, enabling a fast‑learning organization that continuously adapts to market signals, consumer trends, and internal performance metrics. Roles and Responsibilities Develop and execute the BI strategy aligned with corporate goals and market trends. Champion a data‑driven culture that accelerates learning cycles, strengthens contextual intelligence, and improves decision‑making across the enterprise. Build frameworks that connect commercial insights (sales, marketing, trade performance) with operational levers (supply chain, manufacturing, logistics). Identify and analyze interdependencies to uncover opportunities for margin expansion, service improvement, and demand responsiveness. Partner with cross‑functional leaders to embed real‑time feedback loops that inform pricing, promotions, inventory, and production planning. Partner with IT to provide business requirements in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable BI solutions, dashboards, and reporting tools. Express thought leadership to ensure data integrity, governance, and security across all platforms. Drive advanced analytics initiatives including predictive modeling, segmentation, and trend analysis. Apply AI‑enabled methods to synthesize structured and unstructured data, surface patterns, risks, and opportunities, and convert information into decision‑ready insights and reusable business knowledge, with appropriate governance, accuracy, contextual interpretation, and human judgment. Build and mentor a high‑performing BI team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Promote agile ways of working and experimentation to accelerate insight generation and application. Track defined KPIs that reflect both commercial success and operational effectiveness. Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive business outcomes. Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and executive teams. Serve as a thought leader in data strategy, analytics innovation, and the application of business context to turn insights into enterprise value. Qualifications Strong commercial and financial acumen with proven ability to integrate processes, systems, and teams for business results. Navigate ambiguity and provide clarity. Manage multiple priorities to maximize team performance. High sense of urgency to deliver against non‑conventional projects or initiatives. Demonstrated capability to establish connections and correlations among diverse data points. Influence stakeholders across all levels and functions. Maintain credibility as a reliable business partner. Use inquiry‑based approaches to identify root causes and recommend solutions. Communicate complex information tailored to the audience. Adopt a growth mindset and apply learning in practice. Be self‑motivated and committed to ongoing development. Address complex challenges and make sound recommendations. Apply holistic, system‑thinking. Utilize tools like SAP, Microsoft Office, and Tableau to solve business problems. Demonstrate fluency in using AI and analytics tools to synthesize data and information into insights and knowledge, with a strong commitment to responsible use, validation, and business relevance. Open to 20–30% travel. Required degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant business or entrepreneurial experience. Depth of understanding of total business operations that drives towards “Syrup to Shelf” thinking.
