Overview St. Charles Hospital is a 243-bed, acute care community hospital located in Port Jefferson, NY and is a proud member of Catholic Health, the healing ministry of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and has served the residents of the Three Village area for more than 110 years. This non-profit hospital features three centers of excellence: Maternal/Child services, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. St. Charles also offers services in general surgery, colon/rectal surgery, bariatric surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, epilepsy, stroke care, Female Pelvic Floor Disorders Center, and a nationally accredited Sleep Disorders Center. St. Charles is renowned for its outstanding customer service and scored as one of the top hospitals on Long Island in the delivery of high quality care. Job Details The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for performing hospital wide cleaning duties per established policies and procedures as assigned. Responsibilities:
- Practice efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools.
- Perform all cleaning, floor care and project assignments within area of responsibility or as directed by supervisor
- Perform related services, such as bed moves, changing mattresses, stocking supplies, etc.
- Maintain high standards; works steadily at efficient pace; achieves high QA score
- Assist other associates as necessary. Responds to direction as provided.
- High School Diploma, GED or relevant experience required
- Must be detail oriented with excellent customer service skills
- One to two years of housekeeping or service worker experience is preferred
- Must be available to work every other weekend
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposure to chemicals on a constant basis requiring special clothing or safety equipment
