CT Technologist

Location & Compensation City/State: Bronx, New York, Department: RAD - Operations, Work Shift: Evening, Work Days: Days vary, Scheduled Hours: 12 PM-8:30 PM, Hourly Rate: $55.14 Job Summary Under the direction of a radiologist, performs CT scan procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. This position is two to three weekdays per week – typically Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00 to 8:30 PM, with additional weekend coverage as needed. Essential Functions Patient and Room Preparation Enter patient data into Epic and other computer systems as necessary. Place the patient on the scan table in the correct position for the scan. Obtain the appropriate scout image for the procedure. Obtain Cross-sectional Images Set protocols and sequences to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist. Direct Involvement During Procedure Assist at the side of the radiologist during biopsy procedures as needed. Maintain constant attention to the progression of the procedure from the control room, monitoring it during biopsy. Operate the injector when necessary. Photographing and Processing of Images Photograph and label scan images. Process and display final images on viewing machines for radiologist interpretation. Maintain all necessary records of image slices, injections, etc. Observe all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety for patients and staff. Train other associates and students in CT scan procedures. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the assigned area. Perform duties of a 4T technologist as needed. Perform other related assigned tasks. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training program that meets the requirements for certification by the ARRT. NYS Licensed/Registered Radiologic Technologist. ARRT Certification in CT. Radiographic film processor. CAT Scan Systems. Epic tracking equipment. OHS Fit Test/OHS Annual Assessment. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree.
