Human Resources Coordinator

Two openingsthese positions follow an alternative work schedule listed below.
Shift C: Sunday/Monday from 5pm-3:30am, and Friday/Saturday from 5am-3:30pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are regularly scheduled days off.
Shift B: Tuesday through Friday from pm to 3:30am, with Monday, Saturday and Sunday as regularly scheduled days off.
Job Title: Coordinator Human Resources
Job Description
Join our HR team as an HR & Attendance Specialist, where you will serve as the plant's Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for attendance management. This high-impact role involves administering the National Attendance Program (NAP) as outlined in our National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the UAW. You will be responsible for conducting corrective action hearings and issuing attendance-related discipline to hourly employees. The ideal candidate is a resilient communicator adept at de-escalating emotional situations, resolving conflicts, and delivering challenging messages professionally and respectfully.
Responsibilities
  • Administer the National Attendance Program (NAP) ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant administration in accordance with agreements and company policy.
  • Serve as on-site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for line management, supervisors, and employees regarding NAP policies, FMLA regulations, Medical Leaves of Absence (MLOA), and bereavement.
  • Audit and correct Time Worked/Off System (TWOS) coding for attendance, tardiness, and leaves to ensure data integrity.
  • Lead and document formal disciplinary hearings for chargeable absences in partnership with line supervisors and UAW representatives.
  • Deliver and execute attendance-related disciplinary actions ranging from initial coaching to discharge termination for non-compliance.
  • Confidently navigate difficult conversations with employees regarding their attendance status.
  • Utilize advanced conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques during disciplinary discussions.
  • Partner and communicate with UAW representatives to address attendance issues and ensure adherence to contract procedures.
  • Coach operations supervisors and line managers on effective attendance conversations.
  • Prepare documentation to support the company's position in union grievances or legal challenges.
  • Analyze plant-wide attendance data to identify patterns and recommend interventions to reduce absenteeism.
  • Administer the 5-Day Quit process for job abandonment cases ensuring all legal and contractual notices are accurately issued.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of maintaining professional composure, empathy, and authority under pressure.
  • Strong ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate mutually acceptable outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in a unionized manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, and state/federal leave regulations.
  • Experience using HRIS timekeeping or scheduling software such as TWOS, Oracle, SAP, Kronos.
  • Completed Bachelor's Degree in related field with 3+ years experience in HR or Labor Relations.

Work Environment
This role is 100% onsite within a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing facility.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.43 - $32.43/hr.
