About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: The unit has 20 beds. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse and 8-10 registered nurses, along with 1-3 nursing assistants and a PRN sitter. Patient ratios are variable based on acuity. Ratios include ECMO at 2:1, post open heart surgery at 1:1, critical ICU/devices at 1:1, typical ICU assignment at 1:2, and stepdown at 1:3-4. Key equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry monitors, Hoyer/stand lifts, Impella, IABP, CRRT (Nxstage), bladder scanner, Bair hugger, rapid transfuser, Blanketrol, chest tubes, vein finder, Sorin retransfuser post-cardiac surgery, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP. The EMR system used is Sunrise. The patient population is a mixed medical and surgical ICU. Typical procedures performed include pericardiocentesis with drains left in place post-procedure, thoracentesis, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion, intubation, TEE, cardioversion, TTE, and transvenous pacing wire insertion. Ideal candidates should be organized yet adaptable.
