School Psychologist Location: Olympia, WA Employment Type: Contract/Full-Time (Based on Assignment) Pay Rate: $70 (hourly) Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and qualified School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services that support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. The School Psychologist will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to identify student needs, conduct evaluations, develop effective interventions, and ensure compliance with special education requirements. This position plays a critical role in fostering student success and creating a safe, supportive learning environment for all learners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct psychoeducational evaluations, including initial assessments and re-evaluations, in accordance with state and district guidelines. Participate in pre-referral, screening, and Response to Intervention (RTI) processes. Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessments and specialized evaluations. Observe students in educational settings to assess academic, behavioral, and social-emotional functioning. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and support the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Provide consultation, counseling, and behavioral support services to students, families, and school personnel. Monitor student progress and evaluate responses to interventions and instructional modifications. Participate in and lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, IEP meetings, and parent conferences. Serve as a resource to school staff regarding behavioral, instructional, and mental health strategies. Support crisis intervention planning, prevention programs, and school-wide initiatives. Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation in accordance with federal, state, and district requirements. Qualifications Required Master's Degree, Education Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral Degree in School Psychology. Active state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist. Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations, including IDEA. Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment data. Preferred Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential. Previous experience providing school-based psychological services. Experience supporting students in specialized educational programs. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of psychological assessment tools and data analysis. Knowledge of special education processes, compliance requirements, and IEP development. Ability to analyze academic, behavioral, and social-emotional data to inform recommendations. Excellent communication, consultation, and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, families, and educational teams. Experience with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and behavioral support strategies. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
