Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSenior Project Manager – Commercial ConstructionJob DescriptionWe’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with strong commercial construction experience to lead a diverse portfolio of tenant improvements, ground-up construction, renovations, remodels, and other commercial projects. This role serves as a key leader throughout the entire project lifecycle, working independently with executive oversight and maintaining ownership from preconstruction through final closeout.The Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership, sound judgment, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to effectively manage clients, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction, planning, and procurement through execution, punch list, and final closeout.Establish project objectives, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies in alignment with company and client expectations.Develop, maintain, and proactively manage detailed project schedules, identifying critical path items, potential delays, and recovery strategies.Provide leadership and accountability to project teams, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and field personnel.Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, contracts, and budgets to identify risks, conflicts, omissions, and opportunities before and during construction.Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, commitments, costs, change orders, billing, and overall profitability.Manage subcontractor performance and hold trade partners accountable to contract requirements, schedules, quality standards, safety expectations, and project objectives.Coordinate crews, subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, permitting, and other project resources to maintain efficient project execution.Anticipate and resolve complex field and project issues involving existing conditions, design conflicts, schedule impacts, scope changes, and unforeseen conditions.Evaluate change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation while ensuring timely resolution and communication.Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and provide clear, professional communication regarding project status, schedule, budget, risks, and key decisions.Communicate regularly with executive leadership, project engineers, project managers, superintendents, clients, and field teams.Lead project meetings and drive accountability for action items, milestones, and deliverables.Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect schedule, budget, quality, and client relationships.Manage project documentation and ensure accurate, timely, and organized project records.Oversee punch list completion, inspections, turnover, warranty coordination, and final project closeout.Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety, quality control, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.Mentor and support less-experienced project managers, project engineers, and other team members as needed.Preferred Qualifications7+ years of experience in commercial construction project management, with demonstrated success managing complex projects and multiple project types.Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.Proven experience independently managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.Strong understanding of construction contracts, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, project controls, and risk management.OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.Strong construction scheduling and construction drawing/specification interpretation skills.Demonstrated subcontractor and vendor management experience.Experience managing project budgets, change orders, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and project closeout.Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, organization, and decision-making skills.Strong ability to anticipate problems, make sound decisions, and resolve complex project issues with minimal supervision.Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with demanding schedules.High level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.Multilingual skills are a plus.What Success Looks LikeThe successful Senior Project Manager takes ownership, anticipates challenges before they become problems, and consistently drives projects toward successful completion.
