Human Resources Generalist

Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC) is the not-for-profit organization that manages the spectacular Dickies Arena, a 14,000-seat multipurpose venue located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus in Fort Worth, Texas. Owned by the City of Fort Worth, the state-of-the-art arena opened in November 2019 and hosts a variety of events, including concerts, sporting events, family entertainment, and Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances.

Job Summary:

Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC) is looking for a full-time Human Resources Generalist. This position ensures HR programs and processes align with TDMC's mission and values while delivering exceptional customer service to employees and managers.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist with recruitment and management of the ATS, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer coordination
  • Initiate and review background checks, ensuring compliance with TDMC policy and applicable law
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
  • Assist with payroll processing and maintaining accurate employee records in the HRIS system, with special attention to personnel actions including, but not limited to, compensation and classification changes, personnel transactions, benefit changes, and other related HR transactions
  • Administer benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and open enrollment activities
  • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures; assist in drafting and updating HR policies
  • Advises employees and managers regarding benefits and leave programs (i.e., short-term disability, long-term disability, family medical leave (FMLA), etc.)
  • Advise managers and employees on HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Respond to unemployment claims and participate in hearings as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Four-year degree in a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of successful Human Resources experience performing similar tasks
  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and ability to work independently
  • Self-starter, flexible and adaptable to constant change, with the ability to work in a result-driven, high-demand environment
  • Knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and processes
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues
  • Knowledge of current federal and state employment law and regulations
  • Ability to proactively use discretion and sound judgment when guiding supervisors and employees
  • Ability to protect confidential information and communicate with impeccable discretion in all matters related to employees and internal processes
  • Skilled in formulating policy and procedures and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Experience with UKG a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Working Conditions:
  • Employees must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Employees will frequently operate a computer and other office devices such as calculators, telephones, faxes, and printers
  • Employees will constantly move about inside and outside various areas of the facility before/during/after events to interact with internal/external clients.
  • Employees may be exposed to high noise levels and/or fluctuating lights in event settings.
  • Employees must have the ability to reach, lift, and bend to perform job duties throughout the shift.
  • Employees may be exposed to hazards associated with moving vehicles and require strict adherence to safety protocols.
