Schedule: Variable Day Shift | 5 Days/Week

About the Role


We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Hilo, Hawaii . This role provides speech and swallowing rehabilitation services in a Skilled Nursing Facility and Long-Term Care setting. The ideal candidate will help residents improve communication, cognitive function, swallowing safety, and overall quality of life through evidence-based therapy.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, and provide individualized speech-language pathology services based on patient needs.
• Develop and implement treatment plans to improve communication, cognition, swallowing, and functional independence.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, progress, and home exercise strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation professionals, and interdisciplinary care teams to support patient outcomes.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Active Hawaii Speech-Language Pathologist License required by the assignment start date.
• Current BLS (AHA or equivalent) certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing rehabilitation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional floating based on facility needs.
