About the Position

Job Title: RN II - Neuro Tele 2 Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years minimum License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification ACLS NIHSS Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma experience Ability to interpret EKG Natural hair color and no facial piercings Men must be clean-shaven for fit test Description: Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care for patients in a telemetry setting. Candidates must have two years of nursing experience, with neuro experience as a plus. The unit operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. Common diagnoses include trached patients, CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, and brain tumors. The position requires competency in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. This is a fast-paced unit with a high turnover, expecting nurses to maintain a sterile field. Nurses will complete educational components regarding lifts, restraints, and wound care. All RNs are expected to complete a performance evaluation within the first two days of orientation. The unit has a structured schedule that includes holiday shifts based on coverage needs and a requirement for four weekend shifts every four weeks. Nurses will utilize an electronic medical record system for charting. Support is available from specialty teams for difficult IV access. The unit includes charge nurses, who take light patient assignments alongside their responsibilities. Critical care resources such as respiratory therapy and pharmacy support are available 24/7. The average length of stay for patients is 4-5 days. Attendance requirements include flexibility to float within the department as needed. The dress code includes steel gray scrubs. This position is vital for providing quality patient care in an acute care setting.
