We're building GOLD, the next-generation super shopping app—a powerful, intuitive AI shopping agent designed to streamline how people discover and buy products online. Our mission is to help people get the best deals on the products they love, through a seamless and delightful shopping experience. We're an early-stage startup based in San Francisco, led by the founder of GoogleX, Waymo and Udacity. Our team is lean, driven, and highly collaborative. What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of our flagship iOS app built with React Native
- Build and maintain high-performance and scalable mobile experiences Collaborate closely with design, product, backend engineering and AI research teams to ship shopping features
- Define the architecture and technical roadmap for the iOS app as we scale
- Own critical product features end-to-end, from prototype to production
- Help set and promote mobile engineering best practices, code quality, and performance standards
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other engineers as we grow the team
What We're Looking For
- 5-7+ years of professional mobile development experience, with proven expertise shipping consumer-facing apps
- Deep expertise in React Native and strong experience with TypeScript/Node.js
- Solid understanding of iOS-specific tooling (Xcode, provisioning, TestFlight) and deployment processes
- Experience integrating with REST APIs
- Strong grasp of mobile performance optimization, offline-first design, and UI/UX best practices
- Comfortable working across the stack with backend engineers when needed
- Bonus: experience with e-commerce or high-traffic consumer apps
- Bonus: past experience leading teams or mentoring other developers
- Bonus: previous experience with Expo Framework
