Merchandise Planning AnalystThe Merchandise Planning Analyst leads and coordinates key planning, forecasting, and reporting processes, and analyzes business initiatives to identify opportunities/risks as well as drive business results for the Merchandising department. The Merch. Planning Analyst is expected to utilize an analytical/financial background to provide insights and recommendations to cross-functional business partners. This role will partner with the Merchandising leadership team to improve operational & financial performance.Overview of ResponsibilitiesPlanning and BudgetingAssists in the development of long-range financial planning and annual budgets for SproutsBuilds financial models to support accurate planning and influence decision makingForecastingSupports forecast processes and summarizes forecast highlights, business drivers, risk, and opportunities for merchandising department.AnalysisProvides analysis and recommendations to help merchants achieve department revenue and profit goalsRegular reviews of pricing, promotion, and assortment to help support decision makingPre-post analysis of merchandising testsReportingPrepare weekly and monthly presentations for Merchandising leadershipWeekly promotional effectiveness reporting and Ad planningReporting on key business metrics, including department/category performance analysisPartner with the business to understand variances to forecast/budget and understand and relay ongoing implicationsOtherServes as project lead for ad hoc projects by managing objectives, deliverables, and key milestones with minimal supervisionSupports manager in the coaching & development of junior team membersQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is required.Minimum 2 years' experience in financial analysis requiredRetail or Grocery industry experience preferred.Experience with budgeting, planning, modeling, and forecasting systems.Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and ability to work on cross-functional teamsBenefitsIn addition to a rewarding career, Sprouts offers a comprehensive program to help support you and your family.
