Our research informs the strategies, tools, and features that help sellers build and grow their creative businesses — and ensures their needs stay central to how Etsy evolves as a platform.Our research team focuses on using research to guide the development of buyer and seller experiences in our dynamic marketplace of unique items. Our insights are part of the vernacular at Etsy and play a key role in building confidence around product decisions and our overall business strategy.What does the day-to-day look like?Lead and mentor a team of UX researchers, supporting their growth in research craft, prioritization, and career developmentCollaborate with Core Seller leadership to shape long and short-term research strategy, ensuring the team is focused on the highest-impact questionsGuide researchers on study design across a wide range of generative and evaluative methods, including mixed-methods planning with quant and market research partnersDefine and manage a research portfolio that balances foundational understanding of the seller experience with timely, evaluative insights that support product decisionsCommunicate and socialize findings in ways that embed the seller's voice into product strategy and drive action across partner teamsRun your own research projects when the need arises, staying close to the work and modeling strong research practice for your teamPartner with other research managers to strengthen the broader team through shared tools, talent development, and knowledge-sharingRecruit and hire outstanding researchers and set them up for success through a thoughtful onboarding experienceContribute directly to the Research team's overall strategy and focus areasOf course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require!
