Travel Low Voltage and Security Technician – Install Advanced Cabling and Hardware Solutions Across North America

Job Overview

• Company: Sprinter Data, LLC.
• Salary/Pay Rate: $28.00 – $42.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Location: Wausau, WI (Hybrid with up to 80% travel)
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time
• Project Scope: Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Government/Federal low voltage installations (Manufacturing, Veterinarian, and Warehousing environments)

The Opportunity

You will deliver top-tier low voltage, datacom, and security installations for high-profile clients across North America. This role gives you the opportunity to refine your technical craft while traveling to diverse project sites and mastering advanced hardware and cabling infrastructure. You will work with a supportive team that values quality workmanship, continuous learning, and clear daily communication.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Install and terminate Cat6, fiber optic, access control, audio, and surveillance cabling in full compliance with NEC and BICSI standards.
• Deploy networking equipment, computer hardware, access points, switches, and modems while executing light IP configuration and remote troubleshooting.
• Build out support pathways, including EMT, cable trays, ladder racking, wall penetrations, and custom cable routing through drop tile, hard ceilings, and attics.
• Execute daily project updates, upload comprehensive site photo documentation, and submit detailed reports via Fieldwire and Q360 software.
• Safely operate power tools, scissor lifts, and company vehicles with trailers while adhering to all OSHA regulations.
• Maintain clean, organized, and trash-free job sites with pristine rack layouts, level plates, and exact 4-foot support spacing.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate company vehicles with trailers.
• Proven experience building pathways, routing cable through commercial spaces, and using power tools safely.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work on ladders or scissor lifts, and work long or rotating shifts (10–14 hours).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills using daily documentation software and field management tools.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• OSHA 10 Certification or trade program/technical certificate in low voltage systems.
• 2 or more years of experience in low voltage, datacom, or commercial security installations.
• Demonstrated experience with light network programming, IP address setup, and hardware installation.
• BICSI Certification.
