Purchasing Agent - Hybrid

We are hiring a Purchasing Agent - Hybrid for one of our clients in Newark, NJ.

Job Description:

• Solicitation Management Responsibilities
• Solicitations (Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations for Bids (IFBs)) assigned to Purchasing Agents typically are small procurements or select activities within a larger solicitation.
• Assures the inclusion of the proposed specifications, within solicitations as required.
• Gathers quotes and conducts simple bid and proposal processes. Distributes bid and proposal packages, and communicates with vendors, contractors, and consultants. Tabulates bids and proposals.
• Reviews bids and proposals.
• Coordinates contract approval and execution process.
• Issues Purchase Orders (POs) against Requisitions in support of procurements or for stand-alone small purchases.
• Assures that all required documents, representations, and certifications are properly executed and attached to POs and associated files as required.
• Contract Management Responsibilities
• Issues changes to POs against Requisitions in support of changes.
• Performs closeout of contracts.
• Systems of Record Responsibilities
• Performs all duties within the currently approved systems of record or, where manual processes are employed, properly maintains documents in conformance with document control policies.
• Training & Development Responsibilities
• Remain current on all required training.
• Other Responsibilities
• Tracks and reports on work activities with the end result being professional, transparent, efficient in execution of duties.
• Provides prompt responsive customer service to client departments on their procurements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Procurement Leadership.

Skills required:

• Sourcing, Expediting, Customer Service, Vendor Management and Inventory Management.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft -Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
• Oracle EBS, Microsoft Office Suite

Experience and Education required:

• Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of MRO Purchasing and/or materials management experience and supply chain.

Work hours:

• 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• lunch (Unpaid): 30 Minutes

Additional information:

• Hybrid- 3 days -Office, 2 days Remote
• Parking: Public Parking in the area ranges from $12-$22 per day.
• The client does not reimburse for parking
