TTUHSC Managed Care is seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Manager to lead nursing operations at the Formby and Wheeler Units in Plainview, TX . This leadership role is ideal for a nurse who excels in clinical oversight, staff development, and compliance-driven healthcare management—particularly within the unique and rewarding field of correctional healthcare. Position Summary The Nurse Manager ensures that all nursing staff are well-trained, licensed, and delivering quality care in alignment with TTUHSC and TDCJ standards. This position oversees all aspects of nursing practice, including medication delivery, documentation, competency evaluations, and quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse Manager will play a vital role in team leadership, patient care oversight, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Supervise, support, and evaluate nursing staff to ensure proper training, licensure, and performance Monitor documentation and communication in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to ensure accurate, timely care delivery Lead and document monthly staff meetings , including education sessions and issue resolution Oversee medication delivery, documentation, and accountability across both units Conduct and document annual core competency trainings and skills fairs Maintain up-to-date licensure files for all nursing staff Investigate quality of care concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary Support and enforce evidence-based practice in all patient care delivery Manage and prepare for Quality Improvement audits , ORA, ATC, and other surveys Ensure audit data and reports are submitted accurately and on time Serve as liaison with the Director of Nursing Services and submit required meeting minutes and updates Qualifications Current RN license in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer Minimum of 4 years of related nursing experience CPR Certified TTUHSC Managed Care Benefits Enjoy the comprehensive benefits of working for a State of Texas employer , including: Texas state retirement program with employer matching Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Generous paid leave : vacation, sick time, and state holidays Continuing education and training opportunities Professional liability insurance provided Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) -eligible employer For a full list of benefits, visit: Life in Plainview, TX Plainview is a friendly, close-knit community in West Texas offering a relaxed lifestyle and affordable cost of living.
