Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Mixed Acuity: Medical Surgical / Telemetry & Stepdown)

Contract (13 or 26-week options available) | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | 36 or 48-hour weekly options | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit specializing in Neurology and Neurosurgery, including patients with strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions
• Manage patient ratios of 1:5 (Med Surg/Telemetry, days) and 1:3–4 (Stepdown, days and nights), adapting to staffing needs as required
• Administer and monitor IV drips across all assigned floors in accordance with scope of practice
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, swoop/paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
• Float to other units and campuses as needed to meet facility staffing requirements
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
• Proficiency with IV drip administration required across all floors
• EPIC electronic health records charting experience required
• Willingness and ability to float frequently to various units and campuses within scope of practice
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of standard first-timer restriction)
• Background in Neurology or Neurosurgery nursing, including familiarity with EEG monitoring patients
• Experience working in a mixed-acuity environment encompassing both Med Surg/Telemetry and Stepdown levels of care
