About Our Pain Medicine Division

The Pain Medicine Division at our organization encompasses a comprehensive program dedicated to research, clinical practice, and education, focusing on the assessment and treatment of various pain, disability, and rehabilitation issues. Our division employs an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together skilled professionals from multiple specialties, including medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and psychology. This holistic treatment strategy addresses the intricate interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors involved in pain perception and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assessing and diagnosing pain disorders while developing suitable treatment plans, including interventions and medical management.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate patients and identify those suitable for multimodal treatment strategies.
• Overseeing advanced practice providers and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Participating in weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
• Providing coverage for one holiday each year.
• Conducting outpatient clinic sessions at the Falk Medical Building and inpatient rounds in Oakland.

Qualifications

• Possession of a DEA license.
• American Board of Anesthesiology Certification in Pain Management.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
