Take this opportunity to start doing your life's best work.\nThe Specialty Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for prescription fulfillment duties and/or order intake of prescription orders within a pharmacy location within the Optum Frontier portfolio under direct supervision from the Site Director.\nWork Location: 325 W Atherton Rd, Suite 1, Flint, MI 48507\nSchedule: M-F 8-4:30pm EST, no weekends\nPrimary Responsibilities:\n\n Perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders\n Dispense any or all the following: specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, cell gene therapies, and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures\n Process, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and patient collateral (education materials) are included\n May also perform drug/supply ordering and inventory/warehouse duties, including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable product, monitor and adjust/calibrate pharmacy equipment\n Process, pack and ship outgoing specialty distribution orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and accurate documents are included\n Prepare and scan documents, verify member/patient data, submit prescription orders in computer system\n Contact patients to validate data, resolve rejected claims, request payment information, establish priority of order or delivery details, address medication issues, and coordinate treatment with on-site facilities personnel\n Interpret provider prescription and create order, access, input and retrieve prescription and medical/lab information from computer system, verifies whether order/drug is reimbursable/covered\n Perform tracking logistics for outbound shipments to ensure arrived at destination. Work to include triaging packages that were misrouted to ensure meet destination\n Acts as liaison between company, patients, insurances, manufacturers, and provider's office via phone, fax, and e-mail communications\n Accepts unique HUB enrollment and privacy forms and accurately enters into system specific to program design requirements\n Processes prescriptions through pharmacy dispensing software following all laws for each state for which the medication is being dispensed from\n Maintains documentation of calls to and from patients, caregivers, insurances, providers, and manufacturers\n\nYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n High School Diploma/GED\n Valid pharmacy technician license in good standing in the state of Michigan\n 1+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician\n Be a team player and collaborate across functions\n Ability to lift 50 pounds\n Ability to stand for up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n 1+ years of working in a warehouse or supply chain inventory environment\n National PTCB certification\n Specialty pharmacy experience\n\nSoft Skills:\n\n Be a team player and collaborate across functions\n\n\nPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $16 to $29 annually based on full-time employment.
