Senior Mechanical EngineerU.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance required. Candidate must be SAP and SCI program eligible. Our Aerospace Systems Group provides innovative technical solutions to support aerospace programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and their agencies. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead development of advanced electro-mechanical designs from R&D to production.ResponsibilitiesPerform design, development, and testing of mechanical systems for space applicationsCollaborate with the Program Manager to define project objectives, timelines, and deliverablesLead multidisciplinary teams to optimize system performance and reliabilityDefine system level requirements and translate into concepts and designsAuthor drawings, assembly documentation, and test plansWork in a team environment involving experts in diverse disciplines (e.g. aerothermal and thermostructural analyses, RF and IR signature effects of materials and configurations, etc.)RequirementsBachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering8 or more years of experience designing mechanisms and structures encountering challenging vibration, shock, and temperature environmentsExperience with the various elements of mechanical design and drafting, including selection of structural materials, adhesive and fastener selection; AMSE y14.5 and other relevant ASME drafting standards; familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100/MIL Specifications as they apply to aerospace structuresExperience using parametric CAD software to create models of assemblies, parts and drawings.
