Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic images for licensed practitioners. This role requires professionalism, competence, and a commitment to patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring patient history aligns with the procedure and documentation is accurate for practitioner use.
• Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety.
• Operate radiography equipment and accessories effectively to complete procedures.
• Position patients to best display the anatomical area of interest, considering comfort and ability.
• Immobilize patients as needed for accurate examinations.
• Determine appropriate radiographic exposure factors and apply radiation protection principles to safeguard patients, self, and others.
• Evaluate image quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
• Address physical and psychological patient needs during procedures with care and professionalism.
• Practice aseptic techniques when necessary and perform venipunctures as required.
• Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media under licensed practitioner guidance.
• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures, including non-interpretive fluoroscopy.
• May perform catheter anchoring and initiate basic life support when necessary.
• Provide patient education by explaining tests and procedures clearly.
• Maintain assigned areas, report equipment issues, and manage supplies.
• Offer practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives within the department.
• Adhere to all relevant standards and policies.
• May participate in on-call duties to provide technical assistance or shift coverage as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Computer proficiency is necessary.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Must hold state certification for radiologic technologists.
• Graduate from an accredited radiography program with an active student license at start date.
• Registry eligible and must obtain R.T.(R) ARRT certification within six months of hire.

Work Shift: Part-time, 32 hours per week, primarily first shift with potential on-call responsibilities.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
