This role is responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding leadership gifts from CMC alumni, parents, and friends. The officer will manage a portfolio of individuals who have the capacity to make gifts of $100,000 and above, and will seek out opportunities, on and off campus, to develop initiatives that strengthen high‑level philanthropic support in partnership with the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement, Annual Giving and Planned Giving. Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President of Advancement on prospect strategy and with the Research & Relationship Management team on a regular basis. Maintain prospect tracking and regularly update the College’s records for each assigned constituent. Take the lead on special fundraising projects as they arise and are assigned. Assist the Office of Stewardship in developing stewardship plans for donor‑funded named programs. Travel extensively throughout the United States on a regional basis with potential for international travel. Work evenings and weekends as required around college events and activities. Perform other duties related to the position as they arise. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Five or more years of successful fundraising experience, including the solicitation of leadership‑level gifts. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to set and implement strategic plans for individual prospects; mastery of leadership gifts management and best practices covering individual relationships and database science. Familiarity with advancement systems and full spectrum of gifts, from outright cash and stocks to bequests and annuities, and basic understanding of relevant benefits of giving. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to connect with donors and prospects at all levels. Negotiation, problem resolution, and influencing skills. Self‑motivation and collaborative spirit. Working Conditions Required hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend and evening work will at times be expected.
