Transition Consultant I (Furniture Design Role)Transition Consultant I (Furniture Design Role) is responsible for managing furniture design, procurement, and installation activities in support of facility activation projects. You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader.ResponsibilitiesOversee the furniture design process, including schedule development, stakeholder coordination, documentation of decisions, and acting as the primary point of contact for the design teamDevelop competitive solicitation packages from design documents; identify qualified bidders and facilitate procurement activitiesTrack and coordinate furniture orders from acknowledgement through delivery and installationServe as the primary point of contact for change order coordination and documentationValidate utility locations and perform field measurements to support design accuracyCoordinate delivery, warehousing, and installation activities with vendorsPerform punch list reviews, verify invoices, monitor payments, and manage project close-outAct as owner's representative during activation, managing onsite vendor activitiesServe as a direct client interface for assigned projects, ensuring clear communication and issue resolutionDevelop and maintain project schedules, logs, and tracking tools (including complex databases as required)Prepare and present materials to support client decision-makingDevelop monthly reports for internal review and client submissionMonitor adherence to contract requirements and project scopeIdentify project risks/issues and proactively drive solutionsWork independently to initiate and manage required project tasksSupervise and mentor junior staff in execution of project responsibilitiesParticipate in performance reviews of project staff, as requestedQualificationsExperience/EducationBachelor's or Master's degree in a related field2-6 years of experience in furniture design, procurement or related fieldIdeally 1 year of project management or consulting experienceEquivalent combination of education and experience will be consideredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of furniture design, procurement, and activation processesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams)Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawingsFamiliarity with BluebeamExcellent verbal, written, and listening skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to travel up to 50% and work evenings/weekends as neededSalary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
