SECURITY SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist in the USMC of MARINE FORCES PACIFIC. Responsibilities You will manage the day to day operations of the MARFORPAC Command Security Office. You will assure adequacy of policies, plans, directives procedures, and other appropriate media required to plan and implement Information and Personnel Security Tasks. You will coordinate, implement, and monitor Information and Personnel Security training for Command security staff. You will assist in the conduct of preliminary inquiries and/or JAG Manual investigations, as directed regarding violations of security regulations. You will coordinate with the command security manager to maintain a robust security educations training and awareness program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the most or all of the following duties: 1.) Conducting site assistance visits, program reviews, and oversight assessments as directed to assist in ensuring compliance with program policies, goals and directives; 2.) Analyzing information, personnel and industrial security program requirements; 3.) Communicating effectively with management to coordinate security education, training and awareness requirements; and 4.) Producing command products, presenting briefings at service levels, and participating in working groups and conferences. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
